Marc’s Launches New Customer-Focused Web Site
Walking Stick Communications Develops Convenient, Relevant Site for Grocery Chain
October 29, 2003 (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio): In an effort to better serve its customers, Marc’s Deeper Discount Stores launched a newly designed and customer-centric web site last week. The new site, developed by Walking Stick Communications of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, offers convenient access to the information that the customers of the 51-location grocery store chain are looking for.
“The most important thing that our customers are looking for is the weekly ad,” explained Day Armelli, Marc’s Marketing Director. “They now have the opportunity to access the ad that is specifically relevant to them.” The new site (www.marcs.com) allows customers to enter their zip code to access the version of the weekly ad that corresponds to their area. And, if desired, they can sign up to have their respective ad delivered each week via e-mail.
Customers also have quick access to find their nearest Marc’s location. To find the closest store, a customer simply enters a zip code, and the nearest store information is displayed. They can choose from several stores in the vicinity of the zip code entered.
Utilizing the web site content management system called siteMpower, developed by Walking Stick Communications, Marc’s marketing staff is given the ability to continually update the information on the site, to ensure it’s relevant at all times. With this easy-to-use web-based tool, people with no web site programming skills can make changes to the site quickly and easily. The “administrators” work in a user-friendly interface to update and modify text, change out promotional offers, add pages, upload photos, create links and much more.
“Our goal is to provide the most relevant information to our customers,” said Armelli. “This new site, and the functionality of siteMpower, allows us to do that more easily.”
